What do you get when you throw Joss Whedon, Neil Patrick Harris (Doooooogie!), and Nathan Fillion in a room and say “We want funny. Go! GO!”? Some funny television, that’s what. Only, the catch is, this television is only available freely for a limited time on this crazy thing called the Internet.
Go watch Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog now. Then come back here and comment saying “wow, that was actually pretty darn funny” (*cough*commentwhore!*cough*). Alternatively you can come back and comment about how I have a ridiculously warped sense of humor to think anything so inane and childish could be funny. That would work too.
OMG. That was the BEST! “Did you even notice he shoved you in the trash?”said Dr. Horrible
Wowee wow wow!! Dude, that was awesome. The SECOND ACT was even better. I love the song “It’s a brand new day”. Ha Ha HA!
If ya’ll like this, then you’ll flip out over Flight of the Conchords. It’s an HBO show about a 2-man New Zealand band trying to make it in the states–like Dr. Horrible’s, they break into song at random times during the show. Check out YouTube for clips of Business Time, Brett You’ve Got It Going On–really all of the songs are absolutely hilarious. (This is what you do to veg out with your fellow interns when you’re in rural Vermont with no TV or cell phone reception.)
It is very Whedon-y, which is why I resisted watching it at first. But there’s no denying the man writes dialogue very well, and with an awareness of the odd qualities of English.
